No, we are not owned by Stripe. Payment was created in January 2015 for personal use at a garage sale. We integrated with Stripe's API to enable payment processing through their platform. We've been a Stripe Verified Partner since 2015.

How does the 1.2% fee work?

Payment charges an additional 1.2% fee for any charge created within the app, regardless of whether it was a manual charge, charge with a card reader, or a subscription. This is on top of Stripe's standard processing fees (typically 2.9% + 30¢ for online, or 2.6% + 10¢ for in-person with card readers in the U.S.).

Are there any monthly fees or limits?

Absolutely not. You're welcome to charge as much as you'd like, whenever you'd like. No subscription fees, no minimums, no maximums. You only pay when you process a transaction.

What about non-profit pricing?

Payment cannot automatically waive fees for nonprofits, though Stripe offers special pricing for verified 501(c)(3) organizations. Non-profits can receive reduced card-present rates of 2.2% + 30¢ per transaction for Visa and Mastercard, and 3.5% for American Express when using Stripe Terminal card readers. Contact Stripe directly to verify your non-profit status and enable these rates.

We support Stripe Terminal card readers including the Stripe Reader M2 (portable Bluetooth), WisePOS E (countertop), and more. Card readers are purchased directly through Stripe.

Your payout schedule is determined by Stripe, not Payment. Typically, the first transfer may take up to 7-14 days while Stripe verifies your account. After that, payouts happen on a rolling 2-day basis in the U.S. (varies by country).

Does Payment store my information?

No, everything is stored at Stripe. The only piece of information we store on your device is your API keys to connect to Stripe. Your customer data, transaction history, and payment information all live securely in your Stripe account.

Simply delete the app from your device. You can also deauthorize Payment through your Stripe account dashboard under Connected Applications. Your Stripe account and all its data remain unaffected.
